Maryland Department of Health: Maryland Medicaid Provider Guidance

Issued July 12, 2021

"In accordance with the Governor’s declaration of the end of the State of Emergency, the Maryland Department of Health Secretary’s Orders issued in response to COVID-19 will expire on August 15, 2021. Unless otherwise noted...the Medicaid flexibilities associated with these orders will sunset on this date."

Additionally, telehealth services will be reimbursed according to the conditions set forth in this document.

Telehealth for Behavioral Health Care

The Eastern Shore Mobile Care Collaborative (ESMCC) was mentioned in the Health and Human Services best practice guidelines, Telehealth for Behavioral Health Care, which can be found here. Eric Weintraub, MD, was recognized for providing insight to the telebehavioral health guide, which focused on informing health care providers who are just starting out and thinking of incorporating aspects of telebehavioral health in their practice.

Telehealth for the Treatment of Serious Mental Illness and Substance Use Disorders

SAMHSA recently featured our Eastern Shore Mobile Care Collaborative in its latest resource guide, Telehealth for the Treatment of Serious Mental Illness and Substance Use Disorders. The mobile unit provides access to care in Caroline County by providing medication-based treatment for individuals with opioid use disorders.
